The Romanian Society of Mountain Guides and International Mountain Leaders ”Carpați” is a professional association of Romanian mountain guides and leaders affiliated to the Union of International Mountain Leader Associations (UIMLA). The recognised international standard of professional training means guaranteed quality of the services offered by our members around all the Romanian mountains. Due to the centralised communication system offered by the Society, tourists can easily benefit from the services of our guides all over Romania, wherever they might be.
The tours offered by the SGLM guides and leaders are extremely diverse and are addressed to all categories of people – with accommodation in guesthouses in the foothills of the mountains, in high altitude cabins or tents – depending on the programme. During the summer season one can go on fabulous trekking tours, via ferrata / Klettersteig, rock climbing, MTB, canyoning, kayaking, rafting or all these combined with wildlife and bird watching. In winter, the Carpathians are ideal for snowshoeing and ski touring and, for the more adventurous, the Piatra Craiului, Făgăraș, Bucegi and Retezat Mountains offer numerous routes for mountaineering or ice climbing.
