DESCRIPTION
“Nature’s Architects” is an interpretation trail designed for those who want to understand how a landscape is born and who shapes it day by day. The infrastructure was developed by the Association of Ecotourism in Romania (AER) for the Conservation Carpathia Foundation and the Nucșoara Municipality, with every element created from scratch.
The development of the trail involved an initial phase focused on designing the interpretation concept, during which the route, themes, interpretation techniques, interactive installations, and regrouping spots were identified. Detailed plans, the bill of quantities, and a cost estimate were also prepared.
The second phase consisted of implementing the concept and included: clearing the trail, building the infrastructure elements, designing and producing the graphics for the panels, and installing everything on site.
As always, a full team stood behind the project: an interpretation expert, an ilustrator, a designer, an architect, a translator, and other skilled people who put the ideas into practice.
The trail highlights three architects of nature: the European bison, the beaver and… humans. All three shape nature and transform the landscape, each with their own techniques. The interactive stations, totems, and panels turn the entire route into an experience that sparks curiosity and explains without overcomplicating.
“Nature’s Architects” is designed for families, teenagers, and adults of all ages. It is an accessible, 3.7-kilometre trail that can be completed in 2–3 hours and offers opportunities for breaks in meadows and at a panoramic viewpoint.
